If you are a student, a few minutes of verification unlocks discounts that are not shown to everyone. Here is where to look and what to expect.
How verification works
Most stores do not check your ID themselves. They send you to a verification service such as UNiDAYS or ID.me, or to their own form. You confirm that you are enrolled, and the store gives you a single-use code or applies the discount to your account.
- Have your school email address ready
- Some programs ask for a document that shows your current enrollment
- Codes are usually single use and tied to your account
Stores with student offers
- Nike: 10% off for eligible US students.
- Under Armour: 20% off for verified students.
- Apple: education pricing on Mac and iPad all year.
- Samsung: an education program with up to 10% off, depending on the product.
Timing matters for tech
Back-to-school season often adds an extra on top of education pricing, such as a gift card with a laptop. If you can wait until summer for a big purchase, compare the education price with that season's promotion.
Not a student?
Many of the same stores have programs for teachers, military members and first responders. The verification step is the same.
